from Builders
Each year for at least the past five years, over 100 volunteers gather to participate in the BIA’s Boxes from Builders effort. Care packages are compiled and shipped to a U.S. military unit serving overseas. The care packages typically includes notes from school children and members of the BIA, as well as snacks, treats, personal care items, reading materials and other comforts from home. This volunteer effort has become a favorite of the BIA membership and is a huge success each time. Volunteers are needed for the following tasks: * Request financial donations (all donations are tax deductible through the BIA's Building Industry Foundation).
* Garner letters from children through school administrators, scout troops, churches and other affiliations.
* Approach companies about adopting an item
* Solicit retail stores to donate or provide at cost items (Costco, Wise Buys, Dollar Store, Big Lots, etc.)
